The Ninja-Cacophony - prob first ever rock/metal song with heavy japanese influence (music wise) the solo's nothin like youve heard and'll send chills to the spine.

Marty Friedman - Forbidden City - a song influenced by some chinese war ( i forget which one) despite it being instrumental, it portrays the moods VERY WELL youd expect in a war, from the melodious wailing in the intro/outro to everything in between in the middle.

Cacophony - Savage - catchy fucking song, i love playing the solos to this track. (if you think im tellin porkies, i got vids of em on the 'tube, cacophony savage intro solo and caophony savage 2nd solo, account: madthrasher88)

Jason Becker - temple of the absurd - Another instrumental. Scary sounding intro follwed by more catchy shit. my fave and probably underrated out of all of jasons work (for those of you who dont know him, check the fucker out. he was only a teen when he wrote most of his music)

haha yeah i try not to dub myself as just a shredder though (i dont even consider myself that even!) . I love all sorts of stuff. you'll get the speed man its just a lot of meticulous practise :). And cheers for that bro!
